disclaimer: I know it is wrong; think of it as a starting point.
I started this with the intent of just finding some basic chords to go
with the words. I tuned the guitar to DADGAD because you can get a lot
of MH's chord voicings (minus all the harmonics) in that tuning. I know
this song is in a different tuning, but I like to use DADGAD because so
many other songs are in that tuning, and its nice not to change the
tuning during performance.
Think of this as an incomplete, alternate arrangement of MH's "Woman of
the World". Its really awful what I'm doing, from the purist point of
view. Maybe I should call it a Frappe. Here's what I've got so far, and
if anyone else out there would like to contribute to this effort, please do.
Intro: do some variations of a D chord. The base line will the low open D
for a while, then an E, then an F# which will be the lowest note
of the first verse chord.
Verse:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
---2------------------------4-------2-----------------4---------------
---2--------------------------------2---------------------------------
---4------------------------4-------4-----------------4--------------
---0------------------------0-------0-----------------0--------------
---4------------------------4-------4-----------------4---------------
The woman of the world turns slowly Days are drawn and seasons start to change
-------------------------4-4-/--7-7-\--2-2-/-4-------
---4--/----7--\---2-------------------------------------
-------------------------4-4-/--6-6-\--2-2-/-4----------
---4--/----7--\---2------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------
---0-------0------0------0------0------0---------------
She finds that natural boundary Her eyes change color Sounds begin to fade
----------------------------------------------------------------------7----6-
----4------------------6------------4-----------------6--------7------9----7-
----4------------------4------------4-----------------4----------------------
----4------------------4------------4--------------------------6-------------
----4------------------4------------4----------------------------------------
----4------------------4------------4-----------------4--------0------0----0-
I Slowly turn away from the woman of the world
-------------------------------------------------------0-0--2-2--0--
--4-------7---5-------------4---------------------4-4--0-0--0-0--0--
----------------------------0---------------------2-2--2-2--0-0--7--
--2-------7---4-------------2---------------------2-2--4-4-------0--
----------------------------4---------------------4-4--2-2--0-0--5--
-----------------------------------------------------------------6--
The woman of the world holds me To hold her courses farther out to sea
Where no one really knows me If the anchor's up borders lovingly
She's waiting on the beach my woman of the world
Bridge: (don't have anything yet)
No one hears the way she whispers every changing season
Through every falling rain I listen without reason without reason
Verse:
The woman of the world shows me The secret seed she planted in my heart
Her breath is cool to sway me Roots you down her eyes begin to shine
My love runs leaf and vine through the woman of the world woman of the
world...
Outro: similar to intro
If you've made it this far, you can tell this needs some help. I just
try to do what I can since I've made use of at least 4 TABS posted here
by Jay Armstrong and others. Thanks all.
